Sissle Scratching Post: Very important!! We have trained ours to only scratch on the scratching posts and not furniture, etc. If they don't have one they will
improvise. Also, we highly recommend sissle, aside from the fact they prefer these types of material to scratch on, it also keeps them from identifying furniture
as a scratching post as furniture isn't made of rope like material. Cats must have a place to scratch as it keeps their claws in good condition, removing nail
husks, keeping them smooth so they don't snag, etc. This is also how they help stretch out their back muscles. True, they can do some of this on the ground, but
a real good stretch needs the assistance of a good scratching post which helps keeps muscles in good working condition.
Nail clippers: We recommend this style as it doesn't have the tenancy to crush the nail instead of shearing it.
Brush: Ours LOVE this style. We buy them at the grocery store and they actually are less expensive and last longer than the same style you find at pet stores.
The little balls on the tips don't scratch their skin like others can and it gives them a really good message which helps simulate follicles for good hair production.
CET Tooth Brush: Not the rubber finger kind = OUCH!! Optional, but we recommend it for good dental hygine and over all health. If you feed a good
diet they won't need it much.
Dental Rinse: Optional, but we recommend it. We use Petrodex. In between brushing teeth, as we don't need to do it every day, we use this plaque fighting
dental rinse.
Ear cleaner: We use Nolvasan Otic cleansing solution. When you notice your kitten/cats ears getting a little dirty, just squirt a little bit of this in their canal,
message the base of the ear and use a cotton ball to swab the ear clean. Careful when using Q-tips in the ear canal, if you go to deep you can dammage their
inner ear.
Dry Food: Evo from Natura Products and Natural Balance for kittens and cats. On our kittens, we use a 50/50 mix. Not every one carries Evo, but most Pet
Co's carry Natural Balance and you won't have to worry about having to switch your kitten to a new diet.
Wet Food: We use a raw meat mix which requires 2 supplements to make it a balance diet. Other wise you can't feed the raw, it will cause imbalances in their
system that can make them deathly ill as just muscle meat isn't a balance diet. In the wild, they eat the whole animal, bone, entrails, muscle etc and they balance
each other out. I haven't used any other type of wet food, I hear that Evo makes a great canned food, but it's pricy. When looking for a brand of wet food or
dry food, find the one with the most meat products at the top of the list, NO corn!!
Supplements: Our Vet recommends Feline Platinum Performance vitamens and Animal essentials "Natural Calcium". The mix of these two creats a ballance
diet when mixed with the raw meat.
Toys!! They love the feather wands and boas. Nothing with tinsel. If they injest it, it will create an intestinal nightmare that usually requires Vet assistance
possible surgery. BIG NO NO!! Ours love the ball tracks, furry mice, bouncy balls. An occupied cat is a happy cat. Boardome can also help create bad
habbits as they will find a way to keep themselves from getting board. The more different types of toys they have, the less chance they will occupy their time
with yours.

Here is a list of supplies and things you need to do before your kitten comes home. We have

way their is always one accessable. Remember, kittens are a lot like toddlers. They get engrossed in playing and exploring so
when they gotta go, they gotta go NOW!! So if their litter box is all the way on the other side of the house, they may not be able
to make it and end up going somewhere else. This can lead to improper litter box habbits.
