Hateya Pixie-Bobs
Kerri Lewis
By Shauna Toller, Sept. 07'

Kerri Lewis owns Hateya Pixie-Bobs Cattery. “ Hateya is Native American for Footprint in the Sand – which
was the poem my sister chose to have read at her funeral 3 years ago.”

Kerri was an accountant and is now a General Manager of a carpet distribution company. She grew up in
Melbourne, Australia and now lives in Orpington, Kent, England where she enjoys traveling, golfing, and, of
course, her cats. Her mother has bred dogs, but cats have always been a part of her life. When she decided
she wanted to become a breeder she didn’t know what breed she wanted to work with. “It took me a long
time to find the right breed – I wanted something new and different.”

Kerri first learned about Pixie-Bobs through the Internet. When asked what made her bring one into her
family, she responded, “How could you not?” I agree, how could you not want one of these affectionate and
unique cats in your life. Kerri bought her first pixie bob about a year ago, (2006).

Now she is owned by a Pixie, she loves everything about them, “I love their personality, looks, intelligence
and especially their wonderful tail. I could go on forever! They are funny, intelligent, and amazing!

My Pixie girl loves to play fetch with her feather stick and must be attached to my side whenever I am at
home. We have friends with children and they interact amazingly from a 2 month old on up.”

After becoming smitten with the breed, she found herself wanting to have more of them running about the
house. She recently purchased her second girl and hopes to add to her program by the end of her year.
With Donna Cox of Alsoome Pixie-Bobs (her mentor, breeder of her two gorgeous girls, and very good
friend) she began working on her program. Since then, she has shown one of her girls, who is herself a new
mom.

Congratulations, Kerri! In the future, she hopes to import a boy from America, continue working with Donna
to keep breeding “wonderfully tempered and beautiful wild looking cats.”
